RUH MAGAZINE x NOJOUD ALRUMAIHI

In collaboration with Nojoud AlRumaihi, we managed in this project to get these two make up looks using drug store products only! This only proves that low end makeup products can do just about the same magic as any other high end brand. Don’t you agree?! Watch the video below.

Make-up look!

Skin Care

For skincare, we used a nourishing moisturizer from Skin Food. The product is extremely hydrating and has a very nice scent to it. The product, I believe, not only moisturized the skin but helped create a tacky base for the foundation to stick to.

Foundation

The foundation the we used was the Bare Skin Foundation from Sleek Make Up. This foundation was absolutely flawless on Nojoud's skin. It glided on perfectly and was very buildable. It claims to be light coverage but I would say it was a light to medium coverage which was all that Nojoud needed. It has a very natural finish that looks like skin and isn’t cakey at all. I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome and would recommend to anyone who was looking for a good drug store foundation.

Concealer

As for concealer, we used Physicians Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow. First of all, The packaging is absolutely adorable. Second of all, This concealer is more of an under-eye brightener than a concealer. It reminded me a lot of the Touche Eclate concealer from YSL. It concealed relatively well, but mostly brought light to her face and made her look more awake.

Powder

To set the foundation, we used Physicians Formula Super BB Compact Powder. I was relatively surprised how this powder didn’t leave a white cast like most powders do. It set her make up without making her face super matte. It also added some coverage and made her foundation look even more flawless for the camera.

Eyeshadow

The Eyeshadows we used were mostly from Sleek Make Up and Wet N Wild. From Sleek we used both the I-Devine Goodnight Sweetheart Palette and the Enchanted Forest palette. They were extremely creamy and very bendable. The shade range was very good and we were able to create both glam and editorial with these two pallets. As for the Wet N Wild pallet we enjoyed the pigment mostly but in my opinion the darker the shadow got the harder it was to blend and it looked chalky when blended. On the other hand, the shade range was to die for. Wet N Wild really came through when we needed neutral colors for the crease and transition color.

Mascara

Wet N Wild was used for mascara. We used both Max Fanatic and the Mega Volume Mascara to create her super thick and luscious lashes. Both were very good at making her lashes look long a full without being clumpy.

Eye brows

Eye brows we used the Sigma Eye brow Kit. As long as it’s Sigma I think it’s enough said. The Sigma brow kit is an exact dupe of the Anastasia Beverly hills kit. From color range all the way to long lasting results.

Blush

For blush, we used Wet N Wild Color Icon. There are no bad things to say about this product except, why aren’t there more shades? The color was pigmented enough to build up or tone down. It gave a very nice flushed look on Nojoud.

Contour/Bronzer

We used the due contour/highlight powder from Wet N Wild. It is a great product to highlight under the eyes and set the concealer, the contour was not too warm or too cool. It was an amazing neutral shade that looked gorgeous and blended really nicely. To warm up her face we used non other that butter bronzer from Physicians Formula. It had the perfect degree of warmth to it, which made her look like she just got back from the beach.

Highlight

For Highlight, We used non other than Sleek make ups highlighter palette. This highlighter was blinding and looked amazing. It was creamy, super pigmented, will make your cheekbones pop. I could go on and on but nothing I can say will make it justice. I highly recommend this pallet

Lipstick/Liquid Lipstick

For her lips, We used all Sleek Make up from the Matte Me line. We used Bitter sweet for her glam look and we used from the Matte Me Metalic in Rusted Rose for the editorial look. Both of the lines were pigmented and performed well with just one swipe. It didn’t feel dry or sticky which was a plus!
