The Highly Anticipated VS Fashion Show Will Be Missing A Few Big Names!

The highly anticipated Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will take place in Shanghai this year and will be aired on November 28th, 2017, but will be missing big names!

Though, the iconic model sister, Gigi Hadid won’t be walking down the runway with the other angels, bummer! Gigi was not granted her visa and was banned from entering China indefinitely.

Gigi was booked for the show since August, but her visa was denied due to an instagram Video she posted in February where she was holding up a Buddha shaped biscuit while imitating the Chinese religious figure by squinting her eyes. Hadid is not the only model that was denied her visa, models, Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova were also denied for various social media posts which were considered offensive to the people of China. While the beautiful model, Adriana Lima’s visa is being on hold due to “an ongoing diplomatic problem”.

Also, the famous singer Katy Perry who was set to perform at the Victoria's secret fashion show, has been banned as well from entering China indefinitely.

It was believed that the “Swish Swish” singer was informed that she’d would be able to enter China, but the decision was changed when the Chinese government discovered Katy’s controversial 2015 incident in which she wore a bright, glittery dress with sunflowers on it during a performance in Taiwan. The dress caused an outrage because the sunflower was adopted in 2014 by the anti-China protestors.

She was initially granted a visa to perform at the VS show in Shanghai, then Chinese officials changed their minds and yanked her visa,” a source explained. “For every artist who wants to perform in China, officials comb through their social-media and press reports to see if they have done anything deemed to be offensive to the country. Maroon 5 was banned a few years ago because one band member wished the Dalai Lama happy birthday on Twitter.”
