Bringing Life, To Life

It takes nine months for your life to change completely. Nine months to create another life, and have a little piece of your heart outside your body. It is the most beautiful thing in the world carrying another human being, but it certainly doesn't come easy. After all the backaches, headaches, and sleepless nights; you get to have something that makes you understand what unconditional love really means. As a mom, the changes that happened to me left me confused for a while, and maybe frustrated a little. Everyone talks about pregnancy and what to expect when you are expecting technically, but no one prepares you for what comes after. So, here I am, sharing something in hopes that it might make you feel better or simply to tell you that you're not alone. After I had my baby, I was left with saggy belly skin, stretch marks, cellulite, and many changes in my body that I had the hardest time to accept. I came to realize now, that this is what it takes for you to be a mother, and have another human depending completely on you like there is nothing else in the world. Two months later, things were getting better, not even close to where I was before, but it was simply better. I asked moms around me and they all told me it took you nine months to get here, it will take you the same time to go back. Regardless of whether that is true or not, we all have different experiences, different body types, and at the end of the day, we are all truly beautiful. Dear reader, please smile and compliment yourself the next time you look into a mirror. And remember that you went through all this, for you to have another human. How awesome are you? After you accept the fact that you are awesome, start thinking of simple ways to move a bit and have a healthier diet. To me, what really worked for me was walking for an hour everyday, cutting soft drinks, reducing my sugar intake and simply eating better. To all moms, you are beautiful, and selfless. Love yourself and enjoy every second of your baby growing.
