Today I want to talk about the make-up mistakes all of us struggle with! I KNOW for a fact each and every one of you either is struggling with this or have struggled and gave up and want to know what to do to fix it. Here are some common mistakes all of you do whether you’re a beginner or a professional make-up artist.
Uneven Lips!
I get so many people asking me what to do when their lips are uneven. Especially when you over draw your lips it’s hard to see if you’re lips are perfectly even or not. A tip from me is to hold a mirror down and lift your chin up, this will show you whether it’s uneven and you can adjust accordingly. The trick is if you change your perspective you notice things you haven’t noticed before!
Uneven brows!
I know you had this problem before! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made this mistake, but here’s a tip, change your perspective! Just like with uneven lips. You can first do your brows up close and then either take a picture with your phone or look at your brows from a further mirror and change from there! but remember your eyebrows are sisters not twins, so don't worry when they aren't perfect.
Liquid Liner Mistakes!
This is what I get asked the most! Say you did your eyeliner thicker on one eye or if your wing is uneven, the trick is to get yourself some concealer on a flat brush and try to thin out the liner and then wait for it to dry and pack your eyeshadow on top. If you want to fix the wing, Q-tips are your best friends, either dip it in some make up remover or eye cream and adjust it! And trust me once you put your mascara or lashes on, you won’t even notice the difference!
Getting too Excited with Mascara or Liner
Let’s say you’re applying mascara or liner and you accidentally get some on your nose or eyelids. WAIT! I know your fist instinct is to get some make up remover and rub it off but trust me, that will make it much worse! Just wait for it to dry, then get a clean mascara wand (spoolie brush) and just flake it off! I swear this trick works!
Dark Eyebrows
Let’s be real, really dark brows are not cute. If you like super dark brows then this doesn’t apply to you. But if you accidentally went too far with the brows, take a small brush and some face powder and dust it over the brows. This will not only make them a little lighter but it will set your brows and keep the products in place!
Cakey Foundation
With this mistake, I feel like people are over doing it with products. Keep it light people! First of all, I know that baking is everywhere and everyone is doing it, but that doesn’t mean it will work for you. Maybe apply a little powder for setting your foundation first then diving into the baking. Also, if you’re so adamant of the idea of baking, what I noticed is that if you put on a lot of moisturizer under the foundation where it looks kind of wet. the powder you put on top of the foundation will kind of stick to that wet area and look cakey. Cut back a bit on those products and your face will look flawless. And always finish off with a setting spray, all that powder will sink into your skin.
Eyeshadow Fall out
I know how frustrating it is to have a flawless face and then when you do your eyeshadow there is so many eyeshadow fall out that you have to redo your under eyes. One thing you can do, if you know that you’re going to be working with really dark shadows, try doing your eyes first then focus on the face. Another thing, before you apply your eyeshadow, apply a thin layer of loose powder under your eyes and then go on and finish your eyeshadow. The powder will catch any fall out. Once you’re done just dust off the loose powder and you’re ready to go!
