RUH caught up with brand founder and creative director Bunyamin Aydin to find out more about the designer and what he predicts for the future.
Q: Who or what has been the biggest influence on your career and your way of thinking in your designs?
A: My parents are a big influence. Both have been in the fashion industry for over 40 years. I’ve started being around designers, fabrics, and brands from a very young age. Steve Jobs is a role model and he inspires me as a designer and visionary.
Q: What are you passionate about besides your work?
A: Photography and gaming are my two secret passions. I always have my camera with me and I quite frequently use film to capture moments in my life.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you learned from your experience in designing and would recommend to others?
A: Design what you would wear!
Q: What’s your biggest achievement so far?
A: That I do what I love with the people I love. Everyday.
Q: What are your future goals on your bucket list?
A: Travel the world and experience cultures that I haven’t discovered yet. Meet with like minded people and spread a positive message. I don’t keep a bucket list. I have learned to enjoy the moment.
Q: Have you gone through failures and how did you manage to pass it?
A: Without failures, I wouldn’t be here right now. I always do quick mistakes and learn from them to make the right decisions. I’m not ashamed of asking someone how to do something that I don’t know. Age doesn’t mean anything. I learn stuff from 17 year old fellows. It’s all about connection with the youth.
Q: What’s your personal motto in life? A: Enjoy the moment and be yourself.
