Now that fashion week is over, I want to talk about all the new beauty trends we experienced on the runways.
Blunt cut short Hair
Go get your scissors people, short hair is still the trend of the year. It started with the blunt lob Kendall Jenner debuted at La Perla, but as we saw more and more shows the hair got shorter and shorter. I guess Long hair will have to come back next year. For now, we’re cutting it short!
Color Blocked Lids
Color was used tremendously on the runway this year and it was all on the lids! Color blocked lids were everything and used beautifully. We saw the technique being used by the most famous make-up artists including Pat McGrath. Get out your colored eyeshadow pallets ladies and tuck away those neutrals, colored eyeshadows are here for the year!
Perfectly Imperfect Lips
Smudged undefined lips are in this year ladies, ditch the lip liner and join the club with blurred, messy lip looks. The makeup artists purposely wanted the models lip colors to be moving around and fading out to the corners of the lips. I absolutely love this trend and am extremely happy it’s in!
Cool dyed hair colors
The runways this year were rocking fun colored hair, it ranged from subtle pinks to bright greens and blues. It was a joy to see on the streets of fashion week as much as it was a joy to see on the runway!
80’s Blush
There’s never too much blush this year, and the 80’s trend is back! bust out those beautiful rosy pink colors and don’t be light handed!
Dark Lips and Braid
As always at this time of year, fall appropriate lip colors such as burgundy and dark maroons are being showcased. I don’t believe these colors will ever go out of style so don’t hold up on them! Also, Braids! From simple, subtle accent braids to all aver Dutch braided hair. It isn’t a surprise braids were used this year.
Black Graphic Liner
We saw so many black dark graphic liners this year that almost screamed out unique and rebellious! Makeup artists purposely wanted imperfection and grungy 90s looks to be shown on the runway and didn’t care how the system worked!
