How To Prep Your Legs For Saint Laurent's Miniskirts

From Saint Laurent to Jacquemus, the spring/summer 2018 catwalks are proof that shockingly high hemlines are making a comeback for the new season. And while Kaia Gerber rocked her thigh-skimming mini with tights at Saint Laurent, 20 denier is the most you're getting away with this time - a bold flash of skin is non-negotiable.

Confidence is key to stepping out in style, so the best way to gear yourself up for the big reveal is to engage in a little legwork first - think exfoliation, hydration and, if you like, a little make-up application. Discover RUH Magazine's guide to bare leg prep below.

Dry Body Brush

One of the most effective ways to get a good skin glow to use a dry body brush. Ideally it should be part of your regular beauty regime - see our dry body brushing guide here - but even doing it just once before a bare-leg encounter will have immediate and visible benefits. Not only will using a dry brush slough off dead skin cells, it also helps to boost circulation.

Exfoliate

Ingrown hairs are another factor to bear in mind when it comes to baring your legs. If you are planning a spot of hair removal too then make sure you exfoliate first, using a gentle and non-drying scrub. And remember, no microbeads.

Moisturise

Having well-hydrated, healthy-looking skin is perhaps the best route to bare-leg confidence, so pick a good all-purpose moisturiser. A fast-absorbing oil will add a subtle and flattering sheen, but beware of shimmer.

Perfect

A tinted body product is a quick and simple way to even out skin tone and add a bit of colour where required, without having to commit to weeks of gradual tan application. Mix with aforementioned moisturiser for an even more subtle effect.
