Saudi Design Week 2017 .. Coming Soon


The design is to rephrase the aesthetic idea in a visible way and move it from the designer's mind and imagination to a visual form. The design is linked to events, creativity, planning, and a series of processes that take into account economic, social and psychological dimensions. In design, art (beauty) does not occupy the whole story, it is a way of attracting and dazzling, and expressing attitudes and ideas.

The Saudi Design Week is the first design festival in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It includes exhibitions, design forum, workshops, market and related activities, making this celebration an appropriate place to discuss design and its role in the creative movement and creative economy growth, especially among creative youth.

This is the fourth year of the Saudi Design Week with greater capabilities and a firm ambition to push the creative economy movement within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, accordingly access to global with steady steps to represent the Kingdom and its youth in design field.

Saudi Design Week will be held at the APEX Convention Centre in Riyadh from 4-8 October at King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC). The Saudi Design Week’s objective is to create dialogue, showcase experiences, exchange views and benefit from experiences to motivate and support young capacities in different design fields, contributing to the Kingdom's creative economy and in line with Vision 2030.

Oasis Magazine and the Saudi Design Week team are presenting for the fourth year in a row special events dedicated to presenting innovative designs and products, highlighting the creative industries along with the designs of young talents, giving everyone a common space to gain and share experiences in design field.

This year’s theme is "Design in Motion," with the designers showcasing the stories behind their creations as they move from an idea to sketch to shelf, and seeking a more literal understanding by exploring the intersection of design, sport and even motion design through multiple dimensions such as time.
