Oprah Winfrey chose to tell the story of her success to Saudi women at (a meeting with Oprah) in Riyadh and Jeddah, supported by the Saudi General Entertainment Authority.
Winfrey will discuss the difficulties she faced in her work and her life, which she started as a poor daughter of a woman who works in people’s houses, and how she became today the most influential and rich woman in the world. Winfrey will visit Saudi Arabia twice in two separate times, first Jeddah in September and then Riyadh in December, details of the visit will be disclosed later.
"Saudi Arabia is on the verge of a new phase of change, as we are establishing an entertainment industry that will allow Saudis and residents to spend happy times", said Amr Al Madani, CEO of the General Entertainment Authority. And he added "We are creating a social environment that allows us to live in a positive and attractive environment”, Explaining that the Authority is working to improve the standards of entertainment in the Kingdom.
