Bad news for fans of the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette (so like, everyone): According to reps for Huda Beauty , the beloved 18-shade matte-and-metallic eyeshadow treasure trove is being discontinued this fall. We know — tragic.
Rumors started swirling when Huda Beauty reposted a picture of the Rose Gold swatches to Instagram, along with a caption indicating that "this may be your last chance to purchase it." Reps for the brand later confirmed to PopSugar that the best-selling palette will be shelved come October, following the launch of the highly anticipated Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette, which launches next month (fans on Instagram were not pleased).
It's not all bad news, though: Several of the shadows in the upcoming 18-shade Desert Dusk palette closely resemble those in the Rose Gold palette, but in a wider variety of textures and finishes (including a gorgeous new iridescent "DuoChrome Topper" finish designed for layering over mattes). For example, "Desert Sand" is a slightly lighter, peachier version of "Sandalwood," while "Blood Moon" is a near-total match for the Rose Gold palette's namesake "Rose Gold" shade. In fact, the only shade that doesn't have a near match in the upcoming Desert Dusk palette is "Black Truffle" — and as that's just a plain, matte black, it's not a huge loss (you can check out all of the Desert Dusk shades here).
Unsurprisingly, the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette is selling out everywhere, following the news of its upcoming discontinuation: It’s low in stock at Sephora and Selfridges, as well (I may or may not have tried to purchase 12 at once — for research purposes, of course — only to be told "the quantity you selected is not available"). Needless to say, if you want to stock up, now's your chance — because truthfully, I don't think the remaining palettes are going to last until October.
