Luca Maestri, Apple's Chief Financial Officer, confirmed that Apple Pay will reach the UAE by the end of 2017.
Maestri said during the results of the third financial quarter of 2017 that the service will reach at the end of 2017 to a group of countries including Denmark, Finland, Sweden and also the United Arab of Emirates.
With this service, users in the UAE will be able to link their credit cards with Apple smartphones and pay without using the card. The process is confirmed by a fingerprint sensor. Using the service is also possible while shopping electronically, and is confirmed as well by fingerprint, or by typing the password manually.

Maestri said Apple's e-payment service controls 90% of smart phone payments around the world, those made through NFC technology (near field communication). He added that most of the operations are outside the United States of America because of the rapid adoption of new technologies, 3 out of 4 operations taking place outside of America.

Apple's e-payment service is compatible with iPhone 6 and beyond, as well as the iPad 4, iPad 2 and iPad Pro. All you need to do after credit card registration is to bring your device near the payment platform to complete the transaction immediately.
The CFO expects further growth for the Apple Pay service, especially as iOS 11 will be unveiled soon, which will allow users to transfer money directly through the service, which will be limited first in the US and will reach other countries later.
Italy was the last country to get the service in May and is expected to arrive to new countries next September, in conjunction with the unveiling of new phones.
