When Miranda Kerr married Snap Chat CEO Evan Spiegel just two weeks ago, photos of her custom-designed Christian Dior Couture wedding gown fell onto adoring eyes and flooded Instagram feeds the world over. The design in question was dreamt up by none other than Maria Grazia Chiuri, who worked with the model to create the dress of her dreams.
The result was a Mikado-silk gown inspired by the one Grace Kelly wore when she married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. Its traditional silhouette was an homage to the house of Dior’s classic 1950s shape (also seen at the Fall 2017 Couture show), while a light sprinkling of delicate embroidery replicated a lily-of-the-valley flower’s elegant shape.Savoir Flair has gained access to the making of the astonishing wedding gown, which is truly a vision to be admired.
